What are the basic parts of an ignition System?

Ignition System:  Ignition system is a part of electric system of the automobile engineering. It purpose to create high voltage about 20,000 volts and to deliver this high voltage to the combustion chamber in the engine. These high voltage surges then cause electric spark in the combustion chambers. The spark ignite or set fire to the air fuel mixture in the combustion chambers so that it burns and causes the engine to operate.  What are the basic parts of an ignition System? Ignition System basic parts: There are three basic parts of a ignition system : i.                      The spark plug. ii.                    The ignition coil iii.                   The ignition distributor.

Introduction of Mechanical Fuel Pump, Electric Fuel Pump and Carburetor

Mechanical Fuel Pump: Mechanical fuel pumps which is mounted on engine. It contains an airtight, flexible diaphragm attach which is linkage to a rocker arm. The rocker arm rests on offset or an eccentric, section of the engine camshaft. When the engine is running, the rocker arm to back and forth by the eccentric forces for this reason the diaphragm to move up and down.   As a result a pumping action that pumps gasoline from the fuel tank to the carburetor.  Electric Fuel Pump: Electric fuel pump which is mounted on inside of a fuel tank. It is uses electricity from the battery or alternator to operate a plunger, bellows, diaphragm and impeller. As a result pump can supply fuel to carburetor from fuel tank.  Carburetor:    The carburetor is a necessary to a mixing device which mixes liquid gasoline with air. In the fuel system it throws a fine spray of gasoline into air passing through the carburetor on its way to the engine. T

What is the purpose of spark advance mechanism?

Purpose of Spark Advance Mechanism:  The purpose of Spark Advance mechanism is to assure that under every condition of engine operation ignition takes place at the most favorable instant in time that is most favorable from the stand point of engine power, fuel economy, exhaust dilution.  Fuel System: In a fuel system contains gasoline which is stored in a fuel tank. This fuel   (Gasoline) supply to the carburetor by using pump.   A carburetor which mixes the gasoline with air and fuel lines connecting the area.  Fuel Pump: There are two types of fuel pump a.       Mechanical fuel pump and b.       Electric fuel pump

What are the main components of Automobile?

There have five basic parts for Automobile and they are given bellow: 1.      Engine: Engine which is known to all as a power plant. Engine is the source of power which makes the car wheels rotate and the car move where it supply power to lubricating, fuel, electric and cooling systems. 2.      Frame:   Frame support the engine, body and wheels. 3.      Power train: Power train transmit the power engine to the car wheels where its contain clutch, transmission, propeller shaft, axles and differential.  4.      Car Body 5.      Car body accessories: A car body accessory contains the heater, lights, radio, windshield wiper and convertible top raiser.

What are the requirements for Piston and Piston Ring?

1.       Piston and piston ring must be slide in the cylinder with a minimum of friction loss. 2.      Piston and piston ring must have enough to take the punishing pressures and temperatures of the combustion process. 3.      Piston and piston ring must be minimum weight so as to keep inertia losses down. 4.      Piston and piston ring must be a cross section sufficiently large to provide an adequate heat path so excessive piston head temperatures will not occur. 5.      They must be able to exercise adequate oil control. 6.      Piston and piston ring must be minimum clearance with the cylinder wall so as to minimize blow by. 7.      Piston and piston ring must change in size and shape very little as a result of temperature changes. 8.      Piston and piston ring resist adequately the bending forces imposed by combustic pressures. 9.      They must be highly wear and scuff resistant for long life.
