 1) Shearing machine :
    Main parts - Ram, Knife, Bed, Motor, Belt, Pulley and Stand.
   Capacity – Minimum 1/8 inch thick and 4 inch wide sheet can be cut by this machine.
   Operation – It is used for cutting thin sheet.
2) Combined shearing machine:  
                                                      Different types of work can be done at a time. Six types of job can be at a time. It can cut circular, square , v shape metal. Here grease is used as lubricant.




  Main parts:
           1.Motor
           2.Fly wheel
           3.Shaddle                                                                     
           4.Brake
           5.Belt
   Operation- Cutting, Shaping, Roller shaping, V shape cutting, Punch, Angle vise, Thread cutting.
3) Bending machine:
                                More than one bend is possible by this machine. Less than 1.5 inch thickness sheet is suitable for this machine. Machine oil is used as lubricant. Pressure is measured by a meter.

   Main parts:
           1.Switch board
           2.Pressure bed
           3.Bending bench

4) Hydraulic hand press machine: Small gear, shaft or any kind of job can be cut by this machine.

    Main parts:
           1.Bevel gear
           2.Chain
           3.Hand wheel
           4.Table
           5.Handle
           6.Pressure indicator



5) Power press machine : This type of machine is used to press metal and it is made die  & punch.

   Main parts:
            1.Press
            2.Paddle

7) Column drill machine: Big sized drill can be done.

   Main parts:
          1.Gear box
          2.Spindle
          3.Table

8) Radial drill machine :  Drill can be occurred at any space when the job is attached. It can be move left and right, up and down, clockwise and anti clockwise. RPM and cutting dept are always done by selecting different metal. Its column can be rotated.

   Main parts:
       1.Gear box
       2.Spindle
       3.Swith board
       4.Drill chuck
       5.Lathe chuck
       6.Column


9) Pipe bending machine : It is mainly used to bending different type of pipe. 

Capacity- Maximum 4 inch pipe can be bent. Rolling occurred by this machine. 1.5 inch sheet backward rolling can be occurred by this machine.

Boiler


Boiler: A steam boiler is usually a closed vessel made of steel. Its function is to transfer the heat produced by the combustion of fuel to water and ultimately to generate steam.
Types of boiler:
           1. Fire tube or smoke tube boiler            2. Water tube boiler

Fire tube boiler: In fire tube steam boilers, the flames and hot gases, produced by the combustion of fuel pass through the tubes which are surrounded by water. Fire tube boilers are generally used for relatively small steam capacities and low to medium steam pressure. As a guideline fire tube boilers are completive for steam rates up to 12000kg/h and pressures up to 18 kg/cm².Fire tube boilers are available for operation with oil, gas or solid fuel.

Differentiate among progressive die, compound die and combination die.

Progressive die: The dies which performed two or more operations at different stages every time the ram descends is known as Progressive die.
The principle advantage of Progressive die is in the number of operations that can be achieved with one handling of the stock strip. The main disadvantage is that work pieces may become “dished” as they pushed through the die as they generally have very little support.






Compound die: A compound die differs from a progressive die in that it performs two or more cutting operations during one stroke of the press at one station only.

Compound dies are slower in operation than progressive dies but they have advantages for certain jobs, especially where tolerance are close (1)the cutting operation, by the action of the knockout plate ,ensures flatness of the blank.2 Large parts can be blanked in a smaller press if compound dies rather than progressive dies areused.
