What are the basic parts of an ignition System?




Ignition System: 


Ignition system is a part of electric system of the automobile engineering. It purpose to create high voltage about 20,000 volts and to deliver this high voltage to the combustion chamber in the engine. These high voltage surges then cause electric spark in the combustion chambers. The spark ignite or set fire to the air fuel mixture in the combustion chambers so that it burns and causes the engine to operate. 






What are the basic parts of an ignition System?



Ignition System basic parts:


There are three basic parts of a ignition system:

i.                     The spark plug.

ii.                   The ignition coil

iii.                  The ignition distributor.
