Radiator of a Cooling System of an Engine

The radiator is a device for holding a large volume of water in close contact with a large volume of air so that heat will transfer from the water to the air. The radiator core is divided into two separate and intricate compartment water passes through one and air passes through the other. Air passes through the outside of the tubes between the fins, absorbing heat from the water in passing.                                                                                                                                    Figure Radiator of a cooling system of an engine.

Car Engine Liquid Cooling System/ Water Cooling System Types

Automotive or Car Engine Liquid Cooling System/ Water Cooling System Types: There are three types of liquid/water cooling system in a car or an engine and they are given below: 1.       Water Jackets cooling system. 2.       Water Pump cooling system 3.       Thermostat Valve cooling system 1.       Water Jackets cooling system: Water Jackets are designed to keep the cylinders cool. The water jackets are cast into the cylinder blocks and heads.    2.       Water pumps cooling system: The water pump is a impeller type and are mounted at the front end of the cylinder block between the block and the radiator. The pump consist of a housing, with a water inlet and outlet and an impeller. The impeller is a flat plate mounted on the pump shaft with a series of flat or curved blades or vanes.  3.       Thermostat Valve Cooling System: Thermostat valve warm up engine quickly. It engine cool engine.

What are the purposes of engine cooling system?

Purposes of Engine cooling system: The purpose of the cooling system is to keep the engine at its most efficient operating temperature at all engine speeds and all driving conditions. Temperatures higher than this will cause the lubricating oil film to break down and lose its lubricating properties.                                                   Figure: Engine Water Cooling System Types of engine cooling system: There are two types of engine cooling system 1.       Air cooling system 2.       Liquid cooling system                                                    Figure: Engine Air Cooling System Most of the engine used liquid cooling such as car, motorcycles, airplanes and so on.

What are the factors depends on lubricating consumption?

Lubricating oil consumption depends on three factors.. i.                     Engine speed ii.                  Engine wear iii.                Engine sealing Types of lubrication system: Based on four cycle engine lubricating system is two types and they are given bellow: a.       Splash b.       Combination splash and pressure feed.

What are the properties of lubricating oil?

What are the properties of lubricating oil? Properties of fuel lubricating oil : i.                     Proper viscosity ii.                  To thick iii.                Viscosity index iv.                Viscosity number. v.                   Multiple viscosity oil vi.                Resistance to carbon formation and oil oxidation. vii.              Corrosion and rust inhibitors. viii.           Forming resistance. ix.                Extreme pressure resistance. x.                   Energy conserving oil.
