What is the Methodology of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)?

Methodology of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA): Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is a comprehensive and detail examination of a proposed development initiative and the environment in which it is to be conducted and operated. EIA will be carried out in relation to legislative framework relevant to the environmental studies. Baseline environmental conditions around the project site will be established during this stage of the study. The potential interaction between the project and its environmental and social setting will be established, involving identification, characterization and evaluation of all potential impacts.     A comprehensive checklist of all possible impacts associated with the pre-construction, construction and operational stages of the project will be prepared, and will form the basis for a simple matrix table showing for each impact: • The environmental components or values likely to be effected • Characterization i

Objective of the Study of Environmental Impact Assessment

Introduction of Environmental Impact Assessment: To conserve and improve the quality of Environment and to control and mitigate the pollution of environment, the government of Bangladesh enacted the Environment Conservation Act, 1995 (ECA’95) which became effective from June, 1995. Section 12 of ECA’95 stipulates that ‘No industrial unit or project shall be established or undertaken without obtaining environmental clearance from the Director General, Department of Environment (DoE) in the manner prescribed by the rules. A set of the relevant rules to implement the ECA,’ 95 has recently been promulgated (August, 1997). The rules mainly consist of: • Categorized list (green, orange and red) of the projects • Application format to take environmental clearance • Ambient standards in relation to water pollution, air pollution and noise, as well as permitted discharge/emission levels of water and air pollutants and noise by industries. Objectiv

What are the main Parameters of Environmental Impact Assessment for a Sweaters Factory?

The main Parameters of Environmental Impact Assessment for a Sweaters Factory  are given bellow: Water quality (treated):   pH, TDS, TSS (Total Suspended Solids), DO, BOD 5 (Bio-chemical Oxygen Demand) and COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) Water quality (ground): pH, Fe, As, Ca, Pb, TDS, TSS, BOD 5 and COD  Indoor and ambient air quality : PM 2.5 , PM 10 , SO X, CO, CO 2 and NO X Emission from one generator and one boiler: SPM (Suspended particulate matter), SO X, CO and NO X Noise: Noise level at all the four boundary locations and workplace Light Intensity: Work place light Humidity and temperature : On the system humidity and temperature RSP Means Respirable suspended Particle which is also known as PM 10        This particle molecule diameters 10 micrometers. It is also called coarse particle. Fine particles also contain in air where its diameter is 2.5 micrometers and it is mathematically or sy
