The Advantage of Cone Pulley Drive

Advantages of cone pulley drive given bellow them: 1.        Simple in design. 2.        Low investment. 3.        Noiseless and smooth running which is particularly useful in finishing operations. 4.        High mechanical efficiency due to less friction loss. 5.        Rubberized belt drives can absorb shocks due to overload. For this reason most of the machine tools have at least one belt drive in the drive belt. 6.        Feasibility of group drive. 7.        Particularly no influence on the dimension and the size of the electric motor.  8.        The electric motor can be brought inside or at the bottom of the bed. 9.        Cheaper   where the motion is transmitted over a relatively long distance.                                      Central Drive system   The Selection of a Motor as a Machine Tool Drive     Electrical Drive System     Fixtures and Economics     Whats way Walk

Electrical Drive System

The electrical machines are used as the prime mover to achieve the operational movements of a machine tool. But the performance characteristics of the driving motor is satisfy not only the operational conditions but also the requirement of cooling the machine tools. If a clutch is set between the motor and the gear box, the motor can be started under no load condition. In its absence of high starting torque is required to overcome the resistance and the inertia. The operation movement and the kinematic linkage the driving motor may be run in two ways   a.        At a constant speed. b.       With stepped variable speed. c.        At two constant speed. d.       With infinitely variable speed.   It also can run in forward direction or reserve direction.   The working condition also influence the selection of an electric motor. These are open, protected, splash proof, dust free etc and to possibility to assemble it in a machine tool

Types of Equilibrium of Floating Bodies

a.        Unstable Equilibrium b.       Stable Equilibrium c.        Neutral Equilibrium   Unstable Equilibrium: When given a small angular displacement if the body does not return to its original position from the slightly displace original position and heels further away, these types of equilibrium is called unstable equilibrium. Stable Equilibrium: By providing some external force and then it’s return back to its original position due to internal forces such as the upthrust and the weight, when a body is given a small angular displacement. This types of equilibrium is called stable equilibrium. Neutral Equilibrium: If a body   occupies a new position and remains at rest in this new position , when given a small angular displacement.                                         What is Buoyancy?     Characteristics of a Centrifugal Pump     Merits of Centrifygal Pump   Classification of Centrifugal Pump
