What is basic difference between a Turbine and The Pump?

Centrifugal Pump    A centrifugal pump is a contrivance which provides energy to a fluid in a fluid system. It assist to increase the pressure energy or kinetic energy or both of the fluid by converting the mechanical energy.   What is basic difference   between   a Turbine and The Pump?   The basic difference between a turbine and   the pump, from hydrodynamic point of views. Is that in the former flow takes place from the high pressure side to low pressure side. Whereas in pump flow take place from the low pressure towards the high pressure. Thus in a   turbine there is accelerated flow,   while the pump the flow is decelerated.   Why transformer is rated in KVA?                                                                             How and Why an increase in secondary or load current causes an increase in primary current?                                                What is the difference between dynamo breaking a

How can the voltage, current and power ratings of a generator be adjusted?

The circuit shows in figure 1 is used to duplicate the required flux and speed for any specific load. The rheostat in series with the armature is adjusted until the voltmeter reads the same as the induced voltage at the specific load (generated voltage if the dynamo is a generator, counter emf if the dynamo is a motor. Since the I a R a drop of the dynamo as connected is very small, it can be neglected and the voltage across the armature is assumed to be the counter emf. The field rheostat is now adjusted to obtain the same speed at the specific load condition. The voltage induced in a dynamo is given by the equation E=KΦS. Inasmuch as the induced voltage as well as the speed have now be duplicated, it is apparent from the formula that the flux must now be the same as the flux at the load condition. Having duplicated the flux and the speed, the stray power is now determined by subtracting the copper loss from the power input to the armature.

Turbine

Turbine: A turbine is a rotary engine that extracts energy from a fluid flow and converts it into useful work. The simplest turbines have one moving part, a rotor assembly, which is a shaft or drum with blades attached. Moving fluid acts on the blades, or the blades react to the flow, so that they move and impart rotational energy to the rotor. Types of turbine: 1.       Steam turbine 2.       Gas turbine 3.       Water turbine 4.       Wind turbine 5.       Transonic turbine 6.       Ceramic turbine Steam turbine: Steam turbine is such type of turbine where steam is used as working fluid. When steam is injected over the blades it rotates at a certain speed. Since steam is used for rotation it is called steam turbine. Generally it is used at steam turbine power station. In Ashuganj power station, steam turbines are used for steam turbine units. All the turbines are manufactured by BBC (Germany). Main parts of steam turbine:                 Ø   Ro
