What are the Precautions of a Milling Machine?

Precautions of a Lathe milling machine: 1.      Switch on machine check its running. 2.      One should ensure that machine is switched off at main switch. 3.      Always machine must be lubricated where it is also should be cleaned. And also should remove all metal chips for machine with particular attention in sideways. 4.      Mount cutters after thoroughly cleaning the bore, keyways and boss faces ensuring that cutter is clear of the surface of the workpiece. 5.      Safety guard must be fixed. 6.      Set up for all controls such as rate of feed, speed of cutter and rate of feed. 7.      Cutting fluid nozzle must be adjusted to right position when coolant is required. 

Various Types of Work Holding Devices

There are four types of work holding devices is more used such as  1.      Plain Vice:  It is one of the common work holding devices which is hardiest. Plain Vice can be fastened to the table with the jaws or at the right angle to the –T slot.  2.       Swivel Vice:    Swivel vice is as like as plain vice where have only one difference between this two, swivel vice top part can be turned in complete cycle.  3.      Universal Chuck:    It is used for holding the round work piece.  4.      Dividing head:  Diving head used for turning and holding the job so that a number of equal spaced divisions or cuts can be around it.
