Transmission System is a mechanism which transmit the power produced in the power plant of automobile to the during wheel.

Main Components of a Transmission System:

1.     Clutch

2.     Gear box

3.     Universal Joint

4.     CV Joint ( Constant Velocity Joint)

Types of Transmission System:

1.     Hydraulic Transmission: 

Hydraulic transmissions are fluid coupling, torque converter, automatic transmission.

2.     Mechanical Transmission

Unit of Transmission System:

i.                   Clutch Unit: 

Clutch, Fluid, Coupling

ii.                 Transmission :

Gear Box, torque converter, transfer case.

iii.              Drive line Unit:

Universal Joint, sub joint, CV joint

iv.              Drive Axle Unit:

Differential, Half, Shaft.
