Drill Jig and Fixtures



Definition of Drill Jig:

Drill Jig defined as a device which is ensuring that a hole to be reamed, tapped or drilled in a workpiece  will be machine in the proper phase. 




In this work place should lighting as soon as possible.

Should be large enough for holding.

 Eliminates the sharp center’s for operator safety.

Mention the Advantages of the Drill Jigs:

  1. It make possible to drill room or tap holes at much greater speeds and with greater accuracy.
  2. When Drill Jigs are used skill workers no need to operate it.
  3. The path of cutting tool control by Drill Jigs.

Difference between the Drill Jigs and Fixtures:

  1. Drill Jig may be remedy around on the table and is not so fast with machine table. But Fixture always fastened with machine bed.
  2. Drill Jigs are physically limited and control the path of cutting tool. But fixtures do not guide by cutting tool generally.
  3. Drill Jigs applications is drilling, tapping and reaming holes. But Fixtures application is turning, milling, shaping, planning operation.
  4. In drill jig machine skill operators are not required. But Fixtures skill operators must be required.
